Jazz Chisholm Jr. Activated by Miami Marlins
Bahamian Center Fielder Returns to Action
Chisholm Jr. Brings Power and Defense to Marlins Lineup
The Miami Marlins have activated shortstop Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the injured list. The 22-year-old Bahamian has been out since May 10 with a hamstring injury.
Chisholm Jr. is considered to have serious power potential, but also has a questionable defensive reputation. He hit .290 with 16 homers in 58 games at Double-A this season.
The Marlins are hoping that Chisholm Jr. can provide a boost to their offense, which has been struggling lately. The team is currently 23-30 and in last place in the NL East.
Chisholm Jr. is a confident player who believes he can help the Marlins turn their season around.
"I know I can play at this level," Chisholm Jr. said. "I'm just excited to get back out there and help this team win."
The Marlins will be counting on Chisholm Jr. to be a key contributor down the stretch. The team is hoping that he can help them make a push for a playoff berth.
